Peperomia Tetragona 'Parallel'
Peperomia puteolata, Peperomia tetragonaCommon Name: Parallel Peperomia, Watermelon Peperomia
USDA Hardiness Zones: 9-11 (outdoors).
Description
Peperomia 'Parallel' is a succulent-like perennial plant species found covering forest grounds with its quick spreading nature. Its almond-shaped leaves are variegated with alternating stripes of dark and light green, much like the rind of a watermelon. The leaves emerge in whirls of threes and fours, and stand in striking contrast to the upright, reddish stems. These leaves only grow to a few centimeters in tenth and the soft but sort of woody looking 'reddish in color' stems may grow up to 15in. in height. Small white flowers on spikes appear around spring time, but are not very ornamental. Although its growth habit is upright it's also slightly trailing in nature.
This plant is pet and children safe.
