Our Promise of Quality

We understand that purchasing trees and shrubs online limits your ability to see the product before checkout (unlike shopping at a garden center). We offer you the best guarantee on potted plants of anyone in the industry. We guarantee that any plant leaving our nursery is of the finest quality and horticulturally viable. If you are not satisfied within the first 365 days after receiving your order, please call or email us so that we can help correct the situation. We will thoroughly review your concerns with the appropriate nursery staff and may ask for pictures to be emailed. We may provide you with a one-time replacement if necessary. Replacement plant shipping cost is at the customer’s expense. Some trees and shrubs are subject to transplant shock and will just need time to completely recover.

As with all living plants, each requires care and proper nutrients to acclimate to their new environments. Time and your patience are also essential needs for plants to successfully transition to their new surroundings. Neglect, poor watering schedules, or purchasing a plant outside the recommended growing zone are not included with this guarantee. The customer is responsible for choosing a plant suitable for the climate in which it will be grown and following the planting guidelines that are outlined in the Plant Me Green brochure which is included in each shipment and/or can be found on our website. Plants purchased outside the recommended USDA growing zone are not covered by any replacement policy. Zones are posted on each product page. The customer is also responsible for requesting any delayed ship date if they do not want to receive at time of purchase due to winter weather. Standard procedure is to ship your order as quickly as possible and will ship within the specified time frame UNLESS noted by the customer. Please call 1-855-817-5268 or email info@plantmegreen.com us make arrangements to delay your order.

If your potted plant fails to survive the transplant process within one year from the date of purchase, we will issue a 100% store credit of the original purchase price to replace it. We will require a photo of the tree or shrub to confirm it is dead before issuing a credit to purchase the replacement plant. Credit for replacements must be used within one-year of date of issuance. Plants purchased outside the recommended USDA growing zone are not covered by the 1-year replacement policy, and it is the customer’s responsibility to confirm climate compatibility before purchase.  Zones are posted on each product page. Plant Me Green will only replace the plant(s) one time and replacement plants are not covered by any guarantees.

IMPORTANT: The 1-year warranty covers the cost of replacing the plant. Shipping prices will be determined by the shipping carrier. Shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer and must be paid prior to sending the replacement plant.

Damaged During Shipment

Plant Me Green uses the highest quality packaging materials available to ensure your plant arrives safe and healthy. It is extremely rare that packages are broken or damaged in transit. If your order is damaged during shipping, we need to be contacted within 48 hours of you receiving the damaged package. We will do our best to correct the issue. Broken branches are cosmetic and should be pruned; wilted leaves are a result of long-distance travel and will recover after water and rest.

Please DO NOT proceed with planting if you are concerned with its condition upon receipt. We need to know immediately, otherwise the plant’s viability will fall out of our control and responsibility. If you proceed with planting a “poor” or “damaged” plant and contact us weeks later, we will follow our terms of service and guarantee policies.

In order to make a claim, we will need picture documentation. We ask that you take at least 1 picture of the damaged box on the outside and at least 2 pictures of the damaged plant on the inside. Please send the pictures to info@plantmegreen.com. Once we receive the pictures, we can make an assessment of the damage.

Bare Root Policy

Optional Purchasable 1-year Guarantee for Bare Root: Bare root trees are living organisms and as such, they can perish for many different reasons. To protect your investment, we are now offering a 1-year, one-time Replacement Warranty on all our bare root trees. This warranty is only offered at checkout at the time of your purchase. It is not available for purchase once the checkout process has been completed.

If your bare root plant fails to survive the transplant process within one year from the date of delivery and you have purchased the extended warranty, we will issue a 100% store credit of the original purchase price to replace it with during the following bare root season. Failure to produce leaves or buds on the tree is not a sufficient determination if the tree is alive and/or viable as some bare root trees spend a growing season reestablishing their root system before producing leaves. Only the results of a scratch test will be accepted as a determination of loss. To perform a scratch test use your thumbnail or a knife and gently scrape a small part of the outer gray-brown bark from a twig or branch. Directly inside the outer bark on healthy trees/shrubs you’ll find a nice green layer, called the cambium. If you continue scratching away the thin green layer, you’ll see the whitish inner wood. The presence of the green layer indicates life in the tree. To make a claim, please photograph the results of the scratch test (per tree) and email to info@plantmegreen.com. Credit for replacements must be used within one-year of date of issuance. Plants purchased outside the recommended USDA growing zone are not covered by the extended 1-year replacement policy, and it is the customer’s responsibility to confirm climate compatibility before purchase.  Zones are posted on each product page. Plant Me Green will only replace the tree(s) one time and replacement trees are not covered by any guarantees.

IMPORTANT: The bare root 1-year extended guarantee credits the cost of the original plant. Shipping prices will be determined by the shipping carrier. Shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer and must be paid prior to sending the replacement plant.

Opt Out of Extended Warranty: If you opt out of the purchase of the extended warranty, and have purchased bare root trees, you will have until June 1st to assess if your tree is viable and to make any claims. If we agree with your assessment a 50% credit of the purchase price of each tree will be credited to your account to be used the following bare root season. Shipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer and determined by the carrier.

Dormant or Dead?

During the late fall through the early spring months, deciduous trees/shrubs (most fruit, flowering, and shade) will drop their leaves and go dormant, making them appear as though it is a “stick in a pot.” These plants are entirely healthy and are completing a vital part in their growth cycle but may exhibit browning leaves, sparse leaves, or no leaves at all. Planting during dormancy puts less stress on the plant and allows the plant to focus on root growth, giving it a head start in the spring. If you receive a plant during this time and would like to ensure the plant is in fact dormant, simply perform a scratch test on the tree. The presence of the green layer indicates life in the plant. Plant Me Green will not accept any claims of death loss until the plant is given adequate time to come out of dormancy.

Bare root material can ONLY be shipped when it is dormant. We take great care to protect these trees during this vulnerable time and we may even purposefully keep the trees dormant longer in the spring. Upon receipt of your bare root trees, it is always best practice to perform a scratch test prior to planting. Unexpected Occurrences

Our guarantee policy does not cover plants shipped out of recommended zones, Mother Nature’s unpredictability, damage from animals, human error, extreme weather damage, over-watering, drought, insects, poor soil conditions and/or your gardening abilities. Plants are living organisms that can die from many different causes beyond our control. We do our best to make sure you are getting a quality and viable product. We are a family run nursery; we are not a big-box store who can offer plants at a loss. Plants are our business. We want you to succeed and we will do our very best to give you the information needed to properly transplant and care for your plant.

Plant Information

The information listed on each product page is for your convenience in order to make a good decision for your specific needs and hardiness zone. Growth rates, Harvest Time, and Years to Bear are estimates based upon historical data and optimum growing conditions and may vary by region.
