Description

The Carolina Gold peach is a freestone peach that produces a large, 3-inch, red skinned, creamy yellow flesh fruit. A newer release out of North Carolina, this late-blooming, consistently productive peach produces very high-quality, flavorful fruit! Late blooms miss the late spring frosts that decimate many other peaches. Fruit flesh has nice golden color and is resistant to oxidative browning when cut so good for canning or fruit salads. Delicious, sweet tangy peach flavor. High yields and consistency make this a good home or market peach. Small pit and a lot of sweet peachy flesh.  At maturity, it can reach a height and width between 12-18 feet. Ripens in mid-late August (or 4 days after Elberta). Self-pollinating. Requires 1050 chill hours.

USDA ZONES: Zone 4, Zone 5, Zone 6, Zone 7, Zone 8

How to Plant
STEP 1) First, decide on a planting location. Consider carefully what kind of sun, soil, and growing-space your tree or shrub will need.
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.
Care Guide

Plant peach trees in deep, well-drained, sandy soil and in an area with plenty of sunlight. Planting should be done in the spring. Prune once a year, removing vertical branches to encourage lateral growth.
