One of the most in-demand varieties, for both its taste and beauty, these spectacular stone fruits are prized for their sweetness and color. Large, yellow fruit with a half-red blush; birds are less attracted, due to their color. Very firm, sweet flesh has a fine texture and distinct, outstanding flavor. Thriving in USDA zones 5-8, this fruit tree matures to a generous height of 15 ft. to 20 ft., displaying the most exquisite heart-shaped leaves that boast a brilliant green color, adding a touch of elegance to any landscape. But wait, the real magic happens when the abundant harvest arrives; the Rainier cherries are unlike anything you you have tasted before. with their smooth, yellow skin and a delightful burst of sweetness in every bite, these succulent fruits are simply irresistible. They are an excellent choice for baking, canning, freezing and fresh eating. The cherry tree grows best in full Sun, slightly acidic and loamy soil and needs another sweet cherry tree to cross pollinate. We recommend Bing, Montmorency, Royal Ann or Stella cherry. How to Plant
STEP 1) First, decide on a planting location. Consider carefully what kind of sun, soil, and growing-space your tree or shrub will need.
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.
Care Guide
