Description

Red Delicious Apple trees ripen through September and October and produce large, dark red fruit. The apples' sweet and juicy taste is perfect for the family apple pie recipe and other dessert cooking. The tree requires 900 chill hours, and Golden Delicious Apple trees are the recommended pollinators for this tree. For planting, apple trees prefer full sun and moist, well-drained soil. At maturity, the Red Delicious can reach a height and width of 12-15 feet.

USDA ZONES: Zone 4, Zone 5, Zone 6, Zone 7, Zone 8.

How to Plant
STEP 1) First, decide on a planting location. Consider carefully what kind of sun, soil, and growing-space your tree or shrub will need.
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.
Care Guide

Water apple trees regularly, making sure to keep the soil moist without drowning the tree. Prune in the winter while the tree is growing and in the summer once the tree has reached its desired height.

Wilted/shocked

They arrived a day later than expected and when I opened them, they were a little rough looking. They seem to be recovering so I have some high hopes for them. The packaging was top notch except one box had been opened. Everything arrived satisfactory.

Excellent Packaging

You read a lot about trees poorly shipped by companies/nurseries, but these came in great condition and were well protected.
