Description

Rosseyanka is a truly amazing blend between Asian and American Persimmons. Combining traits of both fruits, now the taste of Kaki persimmons can be enjoyed in the North. More of the American parent is evident in leaf and tree form. Fruit tastes like a blend of soft Asian persimmon and ripe native persimmon. Fruits are seedless! The candy like orange fruit has a rich flavor enjoyed into the winter. Good orange leaf color in the fall. Fruit size is larger than native persimmon, approximately 2-3 inches. Must be soft to eat. Fruits will "wrinkle" when ripe. Height 15'-20'. We graft the Rosseyanka onto native American persimmon root stock.

USDA ZONES: Zone 5, Zone 6, Zone 7, & Zone 8.

How to Plant
STEP 1) First, decide on a planting location. Consider carefully what kind of sun, soil, and growing-space your tree or shrub will need.
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.
Care Guide

Plant persimmon trees in full sun to partial shade and in moist, well-drained soil. Water regularly after planting, until tree is established. Persimmon trees need about 40 inches of water every year. Persimmons only need pruning if limbs are crossing or in order to control the tree's size.

just arrived, Best looking tree I've ever gotten

I've mail ordered several trees over the years. Most are barely twigs that struggle to survive and often don't. This one is I got from Plant Me Green looks very robust. It honestly looks exactly like the picture shown. I'm impressed and am looking forward to caring for it.

Great Tree for Zone 5b

Tree is about 6 or 7 years old. First crop this year (30 persimmons). Survived a winter low of -20 F. a couple of years ago with only minor damage. Is about 7 ft tall.
