Optional Purchasable 1-year Guarantee for Bare Root: Bare root trees are living organisms and as such, they can perish for many different reasons. To protect your investment, we are now offering a 1-year, one-time Replacement Warranty on all our bare root trees. This warranty is only offered at checkout at the time of your purchase. It is not available for purchase once the checkout process has been completed.

If your bare root plant fails to survive the transplant process within one year from the date of delivery and you have purchased the extended warranty, we will issue a 100% store credit of the original purchase price to replace it with during the following bare root season. Failure to produce leaves or buds on the tree is not a sufficient determination if the tree is alive and/or viable as some bare root trees spend a growing season reestablishing their root system before producing leaves. Only the results of a scratch test will be accepted as a determination of loss. To perform a scratch test use your thumbnail or a knife and gently scrape a small part of the outer gray-brown bark from a twig or branch. Directly inside the outer bark on healthy trees/shrubs you’ll find a nice green layer, called the cambium. If you continue scratching away the thin green layer, you’ll see the whitish inner wood. The presence of the green layer indicates life in the tree. To make a claim, please photograph the results of the scratch test (per tree) and email to info@plantmegreen.com. Credit for replacements must be used within one-year of date of issuance. Plants purchased outside the recommended USDA growing zone are not covered by the extended 1-year replacement policy, and it is the customer’s responsibility to confirm climate compatibility before purchase.  Zones are posted on each product page. Plant Me Green will only replace the tree(s) one time and replacement trees are not covered by any guarantees.

IMPORTANT: The bare root 1-year extended guarantee credits the cost of the original plant. Shipping prices will be determined by the shipping carrier. Shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer and must be paid prior to sending the replacement plant.

How to Purchase 1-Year Extended Warranty: After you are done shopping and ready to check out, you will have the option to purchase a warranty on all or just one variety of bare root pecan tree on the checkout page. Simply check the warranty options you would like to purchase and those trees will be guaranteed for a year. The Extended Warranty price is based off the size and quantity of your bare root trees.

Please note, you must select the warranty for every variety you would like guaranteed. In the example below, only the Zinner's would be guaranteed a year and the Sumner would follow our Opt Out of Extended Warranty policy.

Opt Out of Extended Warranty: If you opt out of the purchase of the extended warranty, and have purchased bare root trees, you will have until June 1st to assess if your tree is viable and to make any claims. If we agree with your assessment a 50% credit of the purchase price of each tree will be credited to your account to be used the following bare root season. Shipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer and determined by the carrier.

Damaged During Shipment

Plant Me Green uses the highest quality packaging materials available to ensure your plant arrives safe and healthy. It is extremely rare that packages are broken or damaged in transit. If your order is damaged during shipping, we need to be contacted within 48 hours of you receiving the damaged package. We will do our best to correct the issue. Broken branches are cosmetic and should be pruned; wilted leaves are a result of long-distance travel and will recover after water and rest.

Please DO NOT proceed with planting if you are concerned with its condition upon receipt. We need to know immediately, otherwise the plant’s viability will fall out of our control and responsibility. If you proceed with planting a “poor” or “damaged” plant and contact us weeks later, we will follow our terms of service and guarantee policies.

In order to make a claim, we will need picture documentation. We ask that you take at least 1 picture of the damaged box on the outside and at least 2 pictures of the damaged plant on the inside. Please send the pictures to info@plantmegreen.com. Once we receive the pictures, we can make an assessment of the damage.
