Pecan Trees - Elliot (Type 2)Carya illinoinensis
USDA Hardiness Zones: 6-9
The Elliot is a prolific pecan tree, yielding an abundance (around 82 per pound) of excellent quality, flavorful pecans. The nuts are thin shelled with a plump kernel. The Elliot is also scab resistant. It is a Type-2, or protogynous, pollinator, meaning that its stigma is receptive prior to pollen shedding. Because of this, the Elliot should be pollinated with Type-One pecan trees. The Elliot is hardy in Zones 6-9 and can be planted in full sun or partial shade. The tree grows to a mature height of 75 to 100 feet. Plant in deep, moist, and well-drained soil.
USDA ZONES: Zone 6, Zone 7, Zone 8, Zone 9

How to Plant
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.
I'm not a paid person or whatnot, but I love my pecan tree. It came in a sturdy box and well reinforced. The tree was alive and green and after a couple of days I planted it. It came at a good price compared to another pecan tree I bought at a local garden center. Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
Ordered 4 trees, 2 type 2s and 2 type 1s and all showed up less than a week in great condition. They looked healthy and green. Very happy. I will personally order from them again.

I would buy again
The plant that I received was in great condition. It had a well developed root system, and appeared to be completely undamaged from shipping.
