Persimmon Trees - Ichi Ki Kei Jiro (Non-Astringent)Diospyros kaki
USDA Hardiness Zones: 6-9
The Ichi Ki Kei Jiro is the hardiest of all Asian persimmons. Nicknamed “Itchy,” this bountiful bearer features seedless, pucker-free fruit that is never sour — it’s sweet even when picked firm like an apple! It starts producing medium to large orange fruit in 2-3 years. At maturity, the Ichi Ki Kei Jiro reaches a height and width of 8-10 feet and is considered a dwarf. This non-astringent persimmon ripens in September or October and is self-pollinating. We graft the Ichi Ki Kei Jiro persimmon onto native American persimmon root stock.
USDA ZONES: Zone 6, Zone 7, Zone 8, Zone 9

How to Plant
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.
I liked my previous tree so much I ordered a second. Quick shipping, well packed, nice size and healthy specimen. I am in VA, so hopefully my zone is to the liking of this persimmon. I hesitate ordering trees online, but have no regrets here.
Already planted. Arrived quickly! Hoping it can bear fruit in the next few years!! Thank you!
Plant arrive earlier than expected. The package was well wrapped with healthy specimen inside. Interested to order some plants from you in the near future and would highly recommend to my friends.
Very happy! I received a tree that was more than 5 feet tall and with a nice shape. It's advertised to be 2 - 3 feet tall. Also, it arrived 3 days after it was shipped. Customer service was also excellent!!!
The tree arrived in a timely manner, was well packed, and arrived in good shape. It came in a large pot, but had clearly only been recently moved into that larger pot, as the roots were only established in the very center of the pot. This made it awkward to transplant.
