STEP 1) First, decide on a planting location. Consider carefully what kind of sun, soil, and growing-space your tree or shrub will need.
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.

Water apple trees regularly, making sure to keep the soil moist without drowning the tree. Prune in the winter while the tree is growing and in the summer once the tree has reached its desired height.

Our Anna and Dorsett Apple Trees

We were very pleased with the prompt delivery of our trees. They were very well packed and in great shape. We purchased the 1-2 ft. size trees, but they were actually between 3-4 ft. Both had some green leaves on them, and they are already budding out some more leaves! Thankfully, we have had much rain during the 9 days we've had them planted, so our initial watering of them has been mostly taken care of! We were also very pleased with the communications with Plant Me Green. Good company!

Happy deleivery

The tree arrived with two other varieties that I ordered and is one recommended for my USDA Zone. The packaging was excellent and the tree was in great shape. It was larger than I expected with several green leaves which was a pleasant surprise. Even though this is not the best time of year to plant trees in my neighborhood, I got it into the ground within 24 hours of receipt. I will surely have to baby it along during the coming hot summer weather, but it arrived in such good shape that I am really optimistic about its chances to thrive. I am looking forward several years from now to harvest some apples. I can recommend this vendor and will look to them for my future purchases.

I think my trees dead but not sure

Hello Barry, We will be sending you information on how to do a scratch test to determine if the tree is no longer thriving or if it is experiencing transplant shock.
