How to Plant
STEP 1) First, decide on a planting location. Consider carefully what kind of sun, soil, and growing-space your tree or shrub will need.
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.
Care Guide

To help crape myrtles retain water, mulch with organic matter 2-3 inches deep, making sure to keep mulch a few inches away from the trunk. Water regularly until established. Remove dead branches any time and prune weak branches back in the spring in order to encourage a strong and productive tree.

Waiting

The transaction and delivery were great. There weren't any specific planting instructions. I let it rest a few days and then planted it. The leaves have turned darker with some brown. I have watered several times and waiting to see if it will do okay. We have had a lot of rain, so not too concerned re it getting enough water.

Very nice plant. Tonto crepe myrtle

1st tree never got to me due to damage from Fed Ex. The second tree was delivered a few days later and is very healthy. I am very pleased.

Beautiful Tonto

Just took my Tonto out of the packaging (big tree), and it is a winner! Tall, many branches, leafing out, and looks very healthy. The packaging held it securely, although some of the staples that held the box shut were loosened by shipping. I am very pleased. I will update after it has time to settle into its new home.
