USDA Hardiness Zones: 6-9
Alapaha blueberries are a medium-sized, dark blue berry which ripen in late May to early June. It is named for the Alapaha (a-LAP-uh-ha) River in southern Georgia. Its combination of early ripening and late flowering results in high frost resistance. These rabbiteye berries are perfect for eating fresh, or freezing. The fruit has a good firmness, flavor and shelf life. The plant has an upright form and grows 6-10 feet tall and 6-8 feet wide. It should be planted in full sun with sandy to loamy soil. Alapaha needs a pollinator such as Austin or Premier. Alapaha blueberries require 450-550 chill hours.

How to Plant
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.
Bush was wayyy bigger than I expected and in fantastic shape. In fact, my boyfriend immediately exclaimed, “You have to order another plant from them again,” after I unboxed it. Super healthy plant, that’s thriving! Will definitely order from PlantMeGreen again!
The plant arrived very fast and in really good condition. The packaging was done very well.
I'm not sure how the Alapaha will perform in my area but I'm well on my way to finding out.
Berries had a very “watery” taste...not much flavor. Luckily we only have one in the grove. Every other variety we have tasted better.
Very healthy vigorous plant, taller than I expected and already full of flowers with a dense rootball. Expecting good growth given this start
tree is doing well.
