Crape Myrtle - First Editions® Purple MagicLagerstroemia indica
USDA Hardiness Zones: 6-9
Purple Magic Crape Myrtles are smaller myrtles that produce an abundance of large clusters of dark purple blooms starting in July and lasting well into the latter part of September. The Purple Magic is a semi dwarf, mid-sized crape myrtle that grows to a mature height of 6-10 feet in height and 5-6 feet in width and can bring a burst of color to smaller yard spaces. Its new growth comes in red-tinted before turning green in the summer, ushering in the blooms. Purple Magic is hardy in Zones 6-9 and is resistant to mildew and leaf spot. It should be planted in full sun and with well-drained soil. Removal of expired flower heads will often times prolong and increase the duration of the blooms.
USDA ZONES: Zone 6, Zone 7, Zone 8, Zone 9

How to Plant
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.

Received a nice healthy crape quickly. Well packaged and tagged/identified.
Shaped nicely. Reputable company to work with. Thanks.
Two weeks in and the plants seem to be adapting to new home. Leaves have retained color and elasticity. Hoping that the warmer than usual fall wil help roots to take hold,
One is still alive and starting to bloom but one did not make it. Both got same attention and are planted about 10 ft apart.
