Ficus Lyrata 'Fiddle Leaf Fig'
Common Name: Fiddle Leaf Fig, Banjo FigUSDA Hardiness Zones: 10-11 (outdoors).
Description
Fiddle Leaf Figs can be tricky plants to keep: Like most figs, they are temperamental and extremely sensitive to environmental conditions, especially the cold. However, once you know a few tricks, this is a rewarding plant to care for, living up to its reputation as the “‘it’ plant of the design world” with its lush and bushy appearance. Native to tropical western Africa, Ficus Lyrata, commonly known as the Fiddle-Feaf Fig, has very large green leaves with a leather-like texture. Although Ficus Lyrata grows naturally in lowland tropical forests it can thrive in a large range of environments.
Please note: Toxic to humans, cats and dogs if ingested
