Sugar maple is the most common maple in the eastern United States and is a hard-wooded tree with a moderate to slow growth rate. The tree will be 60 to 80 feet tall at maturity in landscape plantings. The dense, highly branched crown creates dense shade and will prevent good lawn growth. Growing in full sun or shade, sugar maple will tolerate a wide variety of soil types (except compacted soil) but is not salt-tolerant. Established trees look better when given some irrigation during dry weather, particularly in the South. It is more drought-tolerant in open areas where the roots can proliferate into a large soil space. Sugar maples are not recommended for the Dallas area, in many cases due to alkaline soils. Sensitivity to compaction, heat, drought, and road salt limit usage of sugar maple for urban street plantings, but it is still recommended for parks and other areas away from roads where soil is loose and well-drained.

How to Plant
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.
Trees arrived in healthy conditions
Sugar Maples shipped quick and arrived healthy. They haven't been in the ground long, but they look great so far! I plan to buy from plantmegreen.com again.
Ordered for my wife a part of her Christmas--trees arrived on time and in GREAT shape---very pleased with the entire process.....
I ordered this tree to plant as a memorial for my deceased mother and could not have been more pleased. It arrived very quickly and was in great shape. I think you will be pleased with the service and quality as well. I would highly recommend.
I searched high and low for a sugar maple tree and the only one I could find was double the cost of yours. I was extremely happy with the price with a packaging the way it was shipped and the ease of planting the tree. It is been a couple of weeks and so far so good the tree is strong and healthy. I use this tree to put in my father's Rock Garden and we are all very happy with it. Thank you so very much
