Plant Quick Guide
Year to Bear:
Most Plant Me Green trees can be shipped and planted any time of year, unless the variety is specified as only seasonal delivery (such as bare root trees). Our shipping schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. This is to ensure our trees do not stay in a box longer than necessary and arrive to you as healthy as possible. If a package needs to arrive prior to a specific date, or at a more convenient time for you, please notate that upon placement of your order. On some occasions, severe weather and other unusual issues can delay shipping and delivery of your Plant Me Green package. Holiday shipping schedules are set by the carriers.
I ordered 1 Hachiya persimmon tree and arrived in good condition in the box with pot. I planted it with directions and hope it will grow well.
The sapling arrived well boxed, but a little worse for wear. I planted it immediately and it appears to be doing ok. The company was very helpful and responsive to my request to fix a problem with the original order.
I received 2 Hachiya trees in good condition. When I went to plant them, I found that each had a very solid, hard root ball that could not be untangled. I planted them according to directions, but I do not feel very optimistic about their further growth. These trees had obviously been raised from the start in the less than one-half gallon pots. The main roots were the size of the trunk of the tree and twisted around tightly throughout the pot. Will new roots come out of this solid tangle ?
My Hachiya tree arrived after about 9 days in transit. So I was happy that I decided to wait until it had gone into dormancy. Hopefully this will help it recover from shock of handling for such a long time. Although there was a clear Sign on the box to as to how to stand it upright, the FedEx delivery man left it upside down at my door which says a lot about lack of care whenever a plant is shipped. But the tree arrived with no apparent damage to any of its buds, so hopefully it will be ok as Spring growing season arrives.
