Description

The Yoshino Cherry is a deciduous, flowering tree that yields a profusion of fragrant, pale pink-white blooms in the spring. The tree's bark exhibits a glossy quality, and its foliage is dark green in the summer and yellow in the fall. These qualities make the Yoshino a great specimen tree. The tree has a medium growth rate and is hardy to -05 degrees (Zones 5-8). It can reach a height of 20-30 feet and a spread of 10-20 feet. For planting, the Yoshino prefers full sun and moist, well-drained soil.

USDA ZONES: Zone 5, Zone 6, Zone 7, Zone 8.

How to Plant
STEP 1) First, decide on a planting location. Consider carefully what kind of sun, soil, and growing-space your tree or shrub will need.
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.
Care Guide

Flowering cherry trees need 8 hours a day of direct sunlight and lots of water to thrive. Water regularly without over-watering. A slow, long watering is the best. Flowering cherries need a 4 foot diameter of unobstructed space to grow in. In order to encourage a strong tree structure and vigorous growth, prune in late fall or winter.

Not doing well

Ordered this and an Alexandria Magnolia. Both came a day or so later than expected, but looked OK. The Magnolia is doing great, but the Cherry, not so much. It’s struggling and I believe it has a fungus/disease. Tree was sprayed with talstar p for insects, but leaves are still yellowing with holes in them.

Fast delivery & arrived in awesome condition

I ordered a 2-3' tree; when it arrived it is actually close to 4'. It arrived in amazing condition, just as it would if we would have bought it at the store and brought it home (no damage and in great condition). First time online plant/tree order- so I was worried. It hasn't bloomed yet as its not time. So we are excited to see how pretty it will be. I will definitely order from them again when I get my house. This was a mother's day gift for my mom.
I like that they come with the guarantee. I paid for shipping but it was very reasonable. Thank you!

5-6ft tall Yoshino Cherry -

It's March here in Va. The trees arrive in good shape, well packaged, and in plastic containers. There were a few young tender shoots broken, but that's expected. Just planted them in the ground so it's too soon to tell, but they do look green and healthy.
